A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step...

Let me start by saying I have mixed feelings writing this first entry in the blog.

I was blessed to be married to a wonderful woman who I was privileged to call my best friend. Sarah gave me the best 18 years in my life and I miss her so very much.

Before Sarah passed away in September 2021, she told me not to mourn for her but rather to celebrate her life. One of our main passions was exploring new places and revisiting some old haunts. I'm honouring Sarah's wishes at least in part by traveling back to Italy for an extended holiday in 2022.

The quote at the start of this post is from an ancient Chinese proverb attributed to Laozi who it's believed was pointing out that even the most difficult journeys in life start with a single step and trust me when I say this is going to be a very difficult journey without Sarah.
